What is shop floor data capture?
Times and quantities are captured where the work happens instead of being estimated later. At the POM Shop Floor Data terminal, employees scan order and personnel number, and if needed operation, workstation, tool and batch, and start and stop their work. Scrap and rework require a reason.
What happens if the network fails?
The terminal keeps booking and sends the data once the connection is back. POM recognises duplicate transmissions. A disruption or missing quantity becomes a task for the person responsible, due by end of shift.
How is a shop floor terminal licensed?
Each shop floor terminal counts as one concurrent user in the core and in POM Shop Floor Data. Workers book there with their badge and need no licence of their own. User accounts are unlimited.
Does POM Shop Floor Data calculate OEE?
No, not today. Shop floor data provides evaluations by workstation, tool, order and shift, a downtime alert and the order analysis target versus actual. OEE per machine is part of POM MES Cable Assembly, which is in development (expected January 2027).
