Why we built POM.
POM was not designed at a desk. It exists because we had to solve a highly complex manufacturing problem ourselves and the available tools did not meet our bar.
Powertune
A plant where hundreds of parts become one product.
Powertune Spezialkabelsysteme GmbH & Co. KG builds complex cable systems for demanding industrial applications, automotive, machine building, special vehicles, aerospace. A single harness unites wires, connectors, contacts, seals, conduits, heat-shrink, fasteners, markings and customer-specific parts, each with its own lead time, its own inspection requirement, its own drawing.

The problem
Many dependent operations, long procurement times, differing qualifications, traceability, complaints, dispatch and tools that each knew only a slice of it: spreadsheets, islands, shouting across the floor.

The decision
Instead of buying another compromise, we built the operational layer ourselves: a platform between order and production that connects planning, people, machines, quality and data and tells everyone what comes next.

The result
POM, in daily use at a company of over 150 people. And because the logic hangs on operations, capacity and dates rather than on cables, it carries into many manufacturing industries.

Machine and order planning
Machine per operation, backward scheduling from the due date, proposal with confirmation, a feasible delivery date already in the quotation and a weekly plan per machine for the notice board. From December 2026.

POM MES Cable Assembly
Machines with capabilities, versioned production plans, a control station with set-up-optimised sequence, machine client and OEE per machine. In development; customer pilots from Q1 2027.

03 MES Universal expected early 2027 · machining no date set
MES Universal and MES Machining
MES Universal is the MES for any production without an industry-specific MES. Machines & Maintenance plans, machines, capabilities, operator authorisation, machine and operator proposals, workload and weekly plan. MES Universal records what really happens at the machines: states, messages, signals, control station and OEE. We will name a date for MES Machining once it is certain.

First as a web app, later native. Today POM runs on Windows, including terminal servers, shop floor PCs and the device mode for the terminal.
