    A supplier reports a faulty batch. Which orders used it and which customers received it is pieced together from delivery notes over several days.

    How POM solves it

    Per article you set the tracking level: none, order, batch or serial number – with a cut-off date if you wish. POM records the trail with every booking and it cannot be changed; a cancellation is a counter-booking with a reason. A blocked batch stops dispatch.

What is traceability?

It answers two questions: where did this batch go and what was this piece made from? POM Traceability traces batches, lots and serial numbers forwards and backwards across several levels. In a recall, the affected-items list names the orders and customers.

Do I have to track batches for every article?

No. Per article you set the tracking level: none, order, batch or serial number. Introduction with a cut-off date is possible. The gap report shows where the trail is missing, before an audit, for example.

What happens to a blocked batch?

It stops dispatch. Blocking and releasing are separate permissions. The trail cannot be changed; a cancellation is a counter-booking with a reason. POM does not contact customers itself in a recall.
