Batch traceability

Batch traceability answers two questions: which batches went into an order – and where did a particular batch go? POM Traceability traces batches from goods receipt through production to shipment, forwards and backwards. From goods receipt, every batch carries its supplier and manufacturer batch; the batch tree shows the path from material to shipment, and the material record shows the batches in an order.

From the bookings that happen in your operations anyway. POM records which batch was processed in which order, at which workstation and by whom, and reads the batch tree from this. You set the batch tracking requirement per article; with POM BDE the batch field at the terminal then becomes mandatory, and the server does not accept the booking without a batch number.

You look up the batch – by supplier too – and trace forwards to see where it went. The affected-orders list names the orders in which it was processed and the shipments with which it left the premises. The list of affected orders and customers is ready before the first phone call. The gap report shows where the chain is not closed.

No. You set the batch tracking requirement per article, for example only for material where your customers require proof. POM Traceability traces batches from goods receipt to delivery; serial numbers of manufactured parts are not part of it.
