Skills matrix & first articles

A skills matrix records which employee masters which work step at which level. In POM Quality you maintain ability and difficulty levels per employee and work step. Qualifications can carry an instruction and an expiry date, and staff suggestions in planning build on the matrix. The employees come from the shared master data.

You need the skills matrix, and you maintain it with POM Quality or with POM Piecework – either module is enough. POM Planning from the base price then takes it into account automatically: staff suggestions rank who can actually do the work by qualification and workload. The first-article release with stored proof belongs to POM Quality.

The proof document is attached to the order, stored on the server and included in backups. Without this document POM does not release a first article, and series production stays blocked until the release. If an order is split, one proof covers every part of it. When a customer asks for the first-article proof in an audit, it is on the order instead of somewhere on a drive.

No, they have modules of their own. POM Quality covers the skills matrix, the first-article release with proof and – together with POM Analytics – quality key figures. Inspection plans, measured values and blocks belong to POM Inspection, complaints with 8D reports to POM Complaints. You add each of them individually.
